About Craniosacral Therapy
The Upledger approach to Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle,
hands-on method of evaluating and enhancing the function of the
craniosacral system - the physiological body system comprised of the
membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and
spinal cord.
The membranes extend
from the skull to the sacrum and have an influence on the development and
performance of the brain and nervous system. Distortions in this
system can result in a wide range of sensory, motor or neurological
difficulties.
Craniosacral
therapy is a way of gently encouraging this system to move freely in normal,
healthy patterns. The intervention is through very light touch involving
only about five grams of pressure (the weight of a nickel). This
triggers the body’s self correcting mechanism and movement distortions
are resolved. Many different problems can be successfully corrected
with craniosacral therapy.
Among the medical conditions for
which Craniosacral Therapy has been shown to be effective are:
-
Migraine Headaches
-
Chronic Neck and Back Pain
-
Motor-Coordination Impairments
-
Central Nervous System Disorders
-
Orthopedic Problems
-
Scoliosis

Individual Classes
Seminars presented by Randall Gibson, M.Ed., LMT, RPP, CST
in cooperation
with the Upledger Institute, Inc.
Introduction to Craniosacral Therapy (12 contact
hours)
June 25-26, 2012 in Akron, OH
September 8-9, 2012 in Atlanta, GA
October 20-21, 2012 in State College,
PA
November 1-2, 2012 in Chicago, IL
In this class, you will
develop and/or refine your light-touch palpation skills. You will learn how to palpate and evaluate the craniosacral rhythm, a subtle
physiological movement affecting the entire body. You will also
learn how to locate subtle restrictions in the connective tissue
system. Then you will use gentle myofascial techniques to correct those restrictions.
This is also your opportunity to sample
the Upledger Institute's CranioSacral Therapy 1 (CST1) workshop studied by
more than 85,000 healthcare practitioners worldwide. This 12-hour
program is a mix of lecture, demonstration and hands-on practice designed
to teach you the benefits of CST along with some basic techniques you can
use in practice and for your own health.
Highlights:
-
Explore the anatomy and physiology
of the craniosacral system and its relationship to illness, pain and
dysfunction.
-
Develop and refine light-touch
palpation skills.
-
Learn and practice palpating the
"listening stations", key body locations where the craniosacral
motion can best be evaluated.
-
Learn and practice tissue release
techniques for the pelvic and respiratory diaphragms and thoracic inlet.
-
Learn about and practice mobilizing
the sacrum; the dural tube rock and dural tube glide;
direction of energy and stillpoint induction.
Why take this two-day class?
By participating in this class, you
will:
1. get a taste of the work before
spending $600-$800 for the CranioSacral Therapy Level 1 class.
2. gain an excellent preparation

3. learn basic, practical
techniques (two days worth!) that can be applied immediately.
4. develop an appreciation of
the craniosacral system and your own healing potential.

from the regular cost of CST1 when you decide to go on.
NOTE: You must register within 30 days for any CST1
class in order to apply.

I want to thank you very much for
recommending that I take Introduction to CST prior to taking the
Upledger Institute's CS1 course. Your class was excellent
preparation and it gave me a solid foundation for the intensive
instruction in the CS1 seminar...
