Eclectic
1. Selecting what appears to be
the best from various doctrines, methods or styles.
2. composed of elements drawn from various sources
(Merriam-Webster's Online dictionary)
Integration has always been my
greatest strength. There are too many methods and too much
information for any therapist to stay current with, much less to master.
While some have succeeded admirably at achieving skill in a particular
technique, I don't believe that any one method, technique, diet or
lifestyle works for everyone. I'm very grateful to have studied and
practiced healing methods which are very diverse and wholistic. I
believe the most powerful approach to healing involves the ability to
blend the best methods by understanding and applying basic principles and
natural laws. This skill is ideally coupled with experience,
creativity, healthy boundaries and solid intention. The final piece
is an ability to determine which technique is best for a particular client at a
particular time.
With this in mind, I have developed
a seminar (Wholistic Integration) to teach touch therapists how to integrate methods
which use very different techniques and focus on different body
systems. This kind of Eclectic Bodywork can also address emotional
stress which is stored in the tissues.

Wholistic
Integration
Are you ready to take your practice
to the next level?
In this weekend seminar, you will
learn and apply methods of working with the nervous system,
musculoskeletal system, lymphatic system, meridian system and more. You will learn specific techniques to influence each system
and then practice blending and integrating those techniques for maximum
synergistic effect. The core skills you learn this weekend can be
applied to other tissues or systems and you will be able to utilize
completely different methods than the ones covered in class.
If you practice shiatsu, polarity
therapy, reflexology, lymphatic therapy, massage, structural integration,
neuromuscular massage therapy, physical therapy or just about any other
bodywork method, you will benefit from this class. If you are new to
the field and wonder what classes or seminars will be most important for
your continuing education, this experience will help to clarify your
direction.
You will enhance whatever skills
and knowledge you already have by integrating key principles and
techniques from other modalities and by developing your own ability to
think creatively.
In addition to the concepts and
techniques mentioned above, this class will include:
● Intention, communication
and boundaries
● Neurolymphatic (Chapman's) Reflexes
● Energy systems: circuits, points and fields
● Keys to enhancing structural / postural bodywork
● Basic Anatomy and Physiology of the
systems we
address
● Creativity in assessment and
treatment
● Where to go from here for optimum effectiveness

Hours: Saturday 9-5,
Sunday 9-5 (12 contact hours)
This class is not yet approved for CEU's
Fee:
$250 (Half-price for massage students)
Pre-requisites: None. Any bodyworker should benefit from
this class.
However, the more education/experience you have, the more you will
probably benefit. Excellent preparation for this class would be
training in one or more of the following: Touch For Health
Kinesiology, Polarity Therapy or Craniosacral Therapy. Those all have
strong integrative components. Medical, Chiropractic
or Physical Therapy training would also be helpful preparation.
Whatever skills you currently have will be enhanced by the ability to
integrate new and different approaches into your work.
