Basic Acupressure 1

This class is an excellent introduction to
Shiatsu (literally "finger pressure") and useful for anyone interested in
health. We will practice stimulating specific points in order to
help relieve common ailments (from colds and flu to shoulder tension and
headaches). These points can also be used to maintain health,
stimulate the immune system, increase vitality and improve performance.
We will also practice a Shiatsu back routine, which is an wonderful treatment for back pain.

The text - Acupressure's Potent Points by Gach is highly
recommended.

Meridians for Bodyworkers
and Healers
(open to everyone / no pre-requisites)
In this class, we will learn about the
circulation of body energy ("Ki" in Japanese) through the meridians
and how to use
this knowledge to enhance any massage or healing session.
We will study the 14 most commonly described meridians (energy channels)
and a few of their most important points, learn energy exercises (one for
each meridian) and practice various ways to use meridians in both
assessment and treatment.

Energetic Keys to
Health

This class is about healing yourself and finding answers.
If I could share with you the gist of all that I've
learned in over 25 years in the health and bodywork field, how much would it be
worth to you? This class is highly recommended to anyone
interested in health or healing. We will cover basic principles and
common-sense guidelines for health
and healing from an energetic perspective. Topics include energetic
nutrition, energetic exercise, detoxification, bodywork, communication and
mental attitude as paths to healing. We will discuss the body language of
illness and explore small, simple, inexpensive ways to begin making changes for
a happier, healthier lifestyle.

Energy Healing
(open to everyone / no pre-requisites)
Our primary goal in this class is to experience energy. We will
practice sensing, evaluating, giving and receiving energy while learning how to
protect ourselves from being negatively influenced by the energy fields of others. We
will work with intention, movement and meditation to unblock and balance our own
energy for self-healing. Most important of all, we will discuss methods for discovering
and developing our
own unique healing abilities.
Fee: $75 (massage students: $50) Time: 9am to 4pm

Muscle Testing for
Everyone
(open to everyone / no pre-requisites)
This class is is an introduction to practical muscle testing (manual resistive
testing). We will learn how to do muscle testing correctly and use it to
get useful information about our own system as well as our partner's. We
will evaluate what weakens or strengthens our body/mind by testing food,
supplements, environmental conditions, thoughts, ideas and much more. We
will ask the body questions about where problems are located and how to correct
them. We will also cover techniques to relieve emotional stress, and
improve the functioning of our nervous systems. This class is based on
Touch for Health® Kinesiology and would be an excellent introduction to that
work.
Fee: $35 (massage students: $25)
Time: 1pm to 4pm
